Manchester Metropolis star Raheem Sterling was awarded ‘Participant of the 12 months (2019)’ by Soccer Writers’ Affiliation (FWA) after having a sensational season.
The 24-year-old attacking mid-fielder was pipped by Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk for the Skilled Footballers’ Affiliation’s (PFA) ‘Participant of the 12 months’ (2018-19).
Nevertheless, Sterling alongside English footballer Georgia Stanway had been named ‘Younger Participant of the 12 months’ by the PFA.
