Sourav Ganguly was unanimously elected because the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The choice was taken on the General Body Meeting in Mumbai on Wednesday after the previous India Captain had filed his nomination for the publish final week on the BCCI Headquarters in Mumbai.
