This is what an avalanche on Mars looks like

If an avalanche happens on afaraway planet, does it make a sound?

We would by no means know the reply to that, however we do no less than have an concept of what it seems like.

A newly launched picture from NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter exhibits a cloud of mud rising within the aftermath of an avalanche on the crimson planet.

The picture was taken in late May on the Martian north pole.

In response to NASA planetary scientist Sweet Hansen, warmth from the solar hits the pole within the spring, dislodging blocks of ice and sending them plummeting down the face of a cliff.

The mud cloud was created when the blocks landed on the backside of the cliff, having fallen greater than 500 metres.
