Terry Crews isn’t backing down on statements he made about Gabrielle Union‘s controversial “America’s Got Talent” departure.
The host seemingly shaded the previous decide on Twitter this week after Union, 47, appeared to call him out for not backing her up.
“There is only one woman one earth I have to please. Her name is Rebecca,” Crews, 51, tweeted on Monday. “Not my mother, my sister, my daughters or co-workers. I will let their husbands/ boyfriends/ partners take care of them. Rebecca gives me WINGS.”
Rebecca King-Crews is Terry’s spouse of practically 30 years.
The former NFL player-turned-actor lately defended “AGT” after Union left amid claims the NBC present had a “toxic culture.”
“First of all, I can’t speak for sexism because I’m not a woman, but I can speak on behalf of any racism comments,” Crews stated. “That was never my experience on ‘America’s Got Talent.’ In fact, it was the most diverse place I have ever been in my 20 years of entertainment.”
Union tweeted the day after Crews made his statements, saying, “Can someone please ask abt what happens to all that diversity folks are talking about BEHIND THE SCENES. Like, legit… where the hell is all that diversity in the production though homie? In the decision making ranks who control the fate of the diversity in front of the camera?”
In a separate tweet, she added, “Why anyone would gleefully get up on TV and tell lies that NO ONE disputed … But we already know.”
In November, NBC introduced that Union and fellow decide Julianne Hough have been leaving the present. Soon after, accusations surfaced about claims together with Union saying she was advised a number of instances that her coiffure was “too black.”
NBC and the union SAG-AFTRA subsequently launchd investigations.
