At present, 14 August marks the eighth demise anniversary of legendary actor Shammi Kapoor and his nephew and veteran star Rishi Kapoor shared a throwback image of him from his image Junglee to recollect. The actor posted the photograph on Twitter and captioned it, “Remembering Shammi Kapoor. Left us on August 14, 2011. Never a star like him.”

Shammi Kapoor was seen in movies like Brahmachari, Vidhata, An Night In Paris, China City, Budtameez, Sachaai, Laat Saheb, Tumse Achha Kaun Hai and lots of others. Rockstar was his final movie, during which he shared the display area with grandson Ranbir Kapoor. The late actor bagged the Filmfare award for Greatest Actor for Brahmachari in 1969 and Filmfare Award for Greatest Supporting Actor for Vidhaata in 1982. Shammi Kapoor, who was additionally known as as India’s Elvis Presley by his followers had handed away in 2011 as a result of continual renal failure in Mumbai.

To counter this, whenever friends of mine came to see me, they posted pictures so people could see what Rishi Kapoor really looked like. Thankfully, my health started improving, week after week, month after month. I had lost 26 kg as I had no appetite for the first four months. Now, I’ve gained seven-eight kg. I don’t want to look too lean, but I haven’t gone back to my original self either. Thank God for that.”
