Rain postpones NASCAR Cup race to Sunday 1

Climate precipitated extra points at Daytona Worldwide Speedway Saturday, with rain suspending the Coke Zero Sugar 400 to Sunday.

The race will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, and be broadcast on NBC.

The race had been set for a 7:30 p.m. ET begin Saturday evening, however persistent rain all through the afternoon left everybody on the monitor watching the climate radar and speculating about whether or not NASCAR might discover a window to squeeze within the race.

However in the long run, NASCAR ran out of time, making the decision to postpone the race round 8:15 p.m.
