Phylicia Rashad’s new venture, “David Makes Man,” follows a 14-year-old who’s pressured to develop into a stand-up man very quick.
Whereas selling the present, the actress informed us her personal mannequin of man is her father. After her dad and mom divorced when she was a toddler, Rashad informed Web page Six that her dad’s new spouse needed him to maneuver away from their hometown of Houston.
“Atlanta was a different scene from Houston — much more fun, I imagined,” she informed us. “He said, ‘I will never leave my children.’ He was always there for us, even as adults my father would travel to New York to watch me [onstage].”
The approaching-of-age drama, starring Rashad, premieres Wednesday on the OWN channel.
