Katrina Kaif and Arjun Kapoor are the newest to have joined the record of celebs from Bollywood who’re opposing the choice of Mumbai Civic Physique to chop down 2700 bushes of Aarey Colony in Mumbai. This choice was taken to accommodate a proposed Metro automotive shed venture. Katrina Kaif expressed her ideas in regards to the problem at an occasion and mentioned, “I believe we all need to do our bit to protect the environment. What we just saw happen in the Amazon is something which is really concerning. I think now the problem is really so much in our face that we can no longer ignore it. So, I think everyone needs to wake up and be conscious about what is happening because now it has come to the point where we will start seeing the adverse effect that is going to have upon us.”
Arjun Kapoor too spoke in help of the marketing campaign. He mentioned, “I feel development is a good thing but if you are doing it at the cost of nature then it’s a complete disaster. It’s not development and it can be called as regression so, whatever is happening with Aarey, I’m not very keen on it. I don’t think our trees should be cut and trees over there for hundreds of years old. If you cut trees of Aarey Colony, it’s like taking out lungs of the Mumbai so, it’s very important for us to stand up and make sure that there is another route that people take for that Metro project.”
Earlier, John Abraham, Shraddha Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar, Raveena Tandon, Dia Mirza and Randeep Hooda spke towards the decision and referred to as out for individuals to protest towards it.
