French zoo captures runaway red panda

A zoo in central France stated it discovered a runaway red panda on Saturday, every week after it escaped by scaling branches damaged by snowfall.

The zoological park in Saint-Martin-la-Plaine stated a person found the endangered furry mammal in his backyard.


“We were called this morning around 8:15 am by a resident. He saw the red panda on a shrub in his garden,” stated park vet Dr Jean-Christophe Gerard in a press release.



A crew headed instantly to the positioning and recovered the red panda.   


“The little panda appears to be in good health and has not suffered from his stay outside the park, even if he is a bit thinner,” Gerard stated.


The three-year-old male escaped from the park final Thursday, benefiting from heavy snowfall that introduced down bushes. His feminine accomplice didn’t comply with him out of the zoo.


On Wednesday, a driver noticed the animal some 10 kilometres (six miles) from the zoo however the police and zoo workers have been unable to find it.   


The shy creatures spend most of their time in bushes and should not thought-about harmful.


Vets can be monitor the panda over the following few days to make sure his well-being.
