Neeraj Shekhar, son of former prime minister Chandra Shekhar, on Wednesday filed his nomination papers because the BJP candidate for the Rajya Sabha bypoll from Uttar Pradesh.
Neeraj Shekhar, who had not too long ago stop the Samajwadi Get together and resigned from the Rajya Sabha seat, filed his papers within the presence of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, BJP state unit Swatantra Dev Singh and different senior occasion leaders.
Senior Samajwadi Get together leaders, together with MLC Ravi Shankar Singh Pappu who’s a detailed relative of Neeraj Shekhar, have been current as he submitted his nomination papers.
Ravi Shankar Singh alias Pappu, when contacted, stated he had gone there as his member of the family. “For me, family is above party politics,” Ravi Shankar Singh stated.
Neeraj Shekhar is all set to get elected from the seat unopposed. The time period of the seat is as much as November 25, 2020.
Wednesday is the final day of submitting of papers for the Rajya Sabha bypoll and scrutiny shall be performed on August 16.
The final date for withdrawal of candidature is August 19.
