EastEnders fans tuning into BBC One’s new drama Noughts and Crosses could not deal with a significant twist in episode one.

Fresh from the shock of authentic Ben Mitchell actor Charlie Chambers showing in the sequence , he was killed off by the tip of the primary episode.

Charlie performed Ben Mitchell on the BBC cleaning soap between 2006 and 2010, earlier than the function was recast.

While he wasn’t the unique Ben technically, he is one of many longest-serving actors in the function – and probably the most memorable.

Viewers have been excited to see him again on display screen a decade on from his Walford exit – but it surely was all short-lived.

Noughts and Crosses fans could not imagine ‘Ben Mitchell’s’ shock demise

Charlie’s character Danny, a Nought, had been attacked by two law enforcement officials, who have been Crosses, after a celebration obtained out of hand.

Crosses are members of the black ruling class, whereas Noughts are members of the white underclass.

But in a twist, Danny was murdered by a fellow Nought from a insurgent group, who was attempting to make him a martyr to create tensions between the 2 lessons.

Charlie Jones performed Ben Mitchell on EastEnders till 2010

As the shock scenes aired, fans raced to Twitter in shock that “Ben Mitchell” had been killed off so quickly.

Others joked it was justice for Heather Trott, who Ben, albeit a unique Ben, by chance killed on EastEnders years in the past.

One fan tweeted: “Oh no, he killed Ben!”

Another stated: “That SOB just killed OG Ben? THAT WAS FOR HEATHER.”

A third added: “Yooo they killed Ben number 3 for good,” whereas a fourth echoed: “Oh no Ben Mitchell is dead!”

Charlie performed Ben for 5 years throughout his childhood, and was on the centre of some enormous storylines together with Stella’s abuse.

Viewers could not imagine ‘Ben Mitchell’ had been killed off

The actor was recast in 2010, and three different actors have performed the function since then.

Charlie was the third actor in the function, however viewers at all times keep in mind him as Ben regardless of it being 10 years since he left.

As viewers tuned in to the primary episode of Noughts and Crosses, they raced to Twitter to see if anybody else had observed who the actor was.

Noughts + Crosses airs Thursdays at 9pm on BBC One.
