Disney has canceled the purple carpet premiere for “Descendants 3” after the sudden dying of actor Cameron Boyce.
“We’re proud to be part of Cameron Boyce’s legacy by showcasing his talents on screen but we are canceling the red carpet premiere event for ‘Descendants 3’ and instead, The Walt Disney Company will make a donation to the Thirst Project, a philanthropic organization to which Cameron was deeply committed,” Disney informed Web page Six in a press release on Thursday.
The Thirst Mission is a nonprofit group that goals to work with younger folks to finish the worldwide water disaster.
The purple carpet was initially scheduled for July 22.
Boyce handed away on July 6 after affected by an epileptic seizure at his California house. He was 20 years outdated.
“With permission from the Boyce family, Disney Channel will dedicate the telecast of ‘Descendants 3’ in Cameron Boyce’s memory,” the assertion concluded.
Over the previous week, Boyce’s fellow Disney stars took to social media to pay tribute to the actor.
“To the boy whose contagious laugh I can still hear. The boy who left everyone feeling hopeful and full of love,” “Jessie” star, Peyton Checklist, wrote on Instagram. “He was younger than me but taught me how to spread love and kindness more than anyone that has ever been in my life.”
“Descendants 3” is about to premiere on the Disney Channel on Aug. 2.
