A report says two Chinese language fighter jets buzzed a Canadian warship working in worldwide waters within the East China Sea at a time of heightened stress between Beijing and Ottawa.
Canadian World Affairs Institute fellow Matthew Fisher wrote that the Su-30 fighters flew inside 300 metres of the bow of the frigate HMCS Regina.
Fisher, who was aboard the ship, mentioned that though the show was extra aggressive than earlier encounters between the Canadian Navy and Chinese language warplanes, it was not thought-about harmful.
China was incensed by Canada’s arrest of Meng Wanzhou, the chief monetary officer of Chinese language tech big Huawei, in December on the request of the U.S.
It has arrested since two Canadians for alleged spying and this week suspended imports of Canadian meat merchandise.
