The federal government has firmed up its plan to supply faucet water to each rural family by 2024 below the Jal Jeevan Mission, sources mentioned on Tuesday.
An official announcement to this impact could possibly be made within the subsequent few days, they mentioned.
“Nal se Jal” is the flagship scheme of the NDA-2 authorities for which the newly-created Jal Shakti Ministry will work with the states to implement it.
As per the plan, an estimate of over 15 crore of the 18.5 crore rural households might be supplied with faucet water, the sources mentioned. The remaining have already got entry to faucet water.
