4 male teenagers have been arrested after two ladies had been punched and robbed in what police on Friday known as a “disgusting” homophobic assault on a London bus.
The assault occurred within the early hours of May 30 after the ladies, each of their 20s, boarded a bus in West Hampstead.
“As they sat on the top deck, they were approached by a group of four males who began to make lewd and homophobic comments to them,” a police assertion stated.
“The women were then attacked and punched several times before the males ran off the bus. A phone and bag were stolen during the assault.”
Each ladies had been handled in hospital for facial accidents.
Police later stated 4 males aged 15 to 18 had been arrested, and so they had been searching for different suspects.
‘Picked out and focused’
Melania Geymonat, 28, advised BBC Radio the lads started harassing them after they found she and her girlfriend, Chris, had been a pair.
“They surrounded us and started saying really aggressive stuff, things about sexual positions, lesbians and claiming we could kiss so they could watch us,” Geymonat stated.
“To ease the state of affairs I tried to make some jokes, like Chris wasn’t understanding as a result of she did not communicate English. She even acted as if she was sick … however they began throwing cash. The subsequent factor I know Chris is in the course of the bus, and they’re punching her.

Det. Supt. Andy Cox known as it “a disgusting assault on two ladies who seem to have been picked out and focused by a gaggle of youths.”
“The suspects have made quite a few homophobic feedback towards the couple earlier than throwing cash at them,” he said in a statement. “When the ladies tried to motive with the group, the assault escalated to an assault.”
